Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Paula Allen was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Florida where she attended St. Paul’s Catholic School and St. Petersburg High School. Her favorite subjects were math, band, and home economics where she further developed her love of cooking which began at a very young age while spending time in grandmother’s kitchen. She was raised by a single mother who worked two jobs (money was tight) and it was through her mother’s example that she learned early the value of hard work. When things needed fixed, she fixed them – discovering the sense of accomplishment of "Doing-it-Yourself". She’s reminded of this important lesson again and again when ApplianceZone.com customers report a successful repair and the same feeling of empowerment.
Paula met Jim in 1987 during her senior year of high school. They married shortly after and soon moved to Northern Indiana where they raised their four children. In 1992, Jim and Paula opened a store which offered reconditioned appliances along with in home appliance service and repair. In the years to follow, the company progressed to include three locations as well as offering new appliances. Then in 1997, they decided to gear the company strictly toward in home appliance service and repair. During that time Jim invented the Allenbar (a specialty tool designed to remove dryer motor retainer clips). The entire family became involved with the manufacturing and still is to this day. In 2006, Jim and Paula moved into the world of e-commerce, offering Appliance Repair Parts to customers around the world.
Paula enjoys reading, spending time with and cooking for her family, watching football (Go Steelers!!) and traveling to the Lucas Oil Dirt Series auto races to cheer on the Appliance Zone #71 race car (Go Chris!!).
